Frequently Asked Questions
These FAQs address common questions about our salt cave and private salt room sessions, including booking, preparation, and what to expect.
The Experience
What is salt therapy?
Salt therapy, also known as halotherapy, is a natural wellness practice that involves relaxing in a space infused with dry, pharmaceutical-grade salt. Guests visit salt caves for relaxation, respiratory comfort, and overall well-being in a calm, peaceful environment.
What happens during a session?
You’ll relax in a comfortable zero-gravity chair while dry salt is gently dispersed into the air. The environment is quiet and calming, with soft lighting and a comfortable temperature. Many guests use the time to rest, meditate, or simply unwind.
What does the space feel like?
The salt cave is designed to feel immersive and soothing, with natural salt elements, warm lighting, and a spacious, open atmosphere. Private salt rooms offer a cozier setting with the same calm, relaxing experience in a more personal space.
Is the room cold?
The space is kept cool and dry, typically around 65°F. Most guests find this comfortable, and light layers are recommended.
Do I need to do anything special during the session?
No. Simply relax and breathe normally. Many guests find the experience deeply calming and enjoy the opportunity to disconnect and rest.
Is this the same as salt booths or halotherapy pods?
No. Grota Solna offers salt therapy in a full Himalayan salt cave and private rooms. While some facilities use single-person booths, our approach focuses on a more open, immersive environment designed for comfort, relaxation, and longer sessions.
Booking & Sessions
How do I book a session?
Sessions may be booked online through our scheduling system, and appointments are available throughout the week. If you prefer, you’re also welcome to call us to book a session directly.
What’s the difference between the salt cave and a private salt room?
The salt cave offers a larger, immersive environment with a more expansive feel. It features a higher ceiling, natural salt elements, a decorative salt fireplace, a gentle water feature, and soft twilight-style lighting overhead. The overall atmosphere is designed to feel open, calming, and deeply relaxing.
Private salt rooms provide a smaller, enclosed setting that many guests describe as cozy and relaxing. They’re ideal for individuals or pairs seeking a more personal, uninterrupted experience.
How long is each session?
All salt cave and private salt room sessions are 45 minutes, unless otherwise noted. Guests may also book back-to-back sessions in the private salt rooms for extended, uninterrupted time.
What happens if I arrive late to my session?
To preserve a quiet, uninterrupted experience for guests already in session, we’re unable to extend session times for late arrivals. When possible, we’ll always do our best to accommodate you in the next available room or cave session.
Are children allowed?
Yes. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. The salt cave offers a calm, spacious environment that many families enjoy together. For those who prefer a more contained setting, private salt rooms are also available. If you have questions about age or which option might be the best fit, feel free to reach out before booking.
Session Packs, Memberships & Gifting
Can session packs be shared?
Yes. Session packs may be shared among guests attending together and used over multiple visits.
Can session packs be used as gifts?
Yes. Session packs may be given as gifts and redeemed over time.
Do session packs expire?
No. Session packs may be used over time.
Do you offer memberships?
Yes. Monthly memberships are available for guests who plan to visit regularly and offer the best value for frequent sessions. Full details are available on our Memberships page.
Should I choose a session pack or a membership?
Session packs are a great option for guests who plan to visit occasionally or prefer flexibility without a monthly commitment. Memberships are ideal for guests who plan to visit regularly and want ongoing access.
Health & Safety
Is salt therapy safe?
Yes. Salt therapy is generally considered safe and is a gentle, non-invasive wellness experience. Individual experiences may vary.
Should I consult my healthcare provider before visiting?
If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have specific health concerns, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before booking to ensure salt therapy is appropriate for you.
Is salt therapy a medical treatment?
No. Salt therapy is a wellness experience and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.
